This is a primitive scoop from the 1800s. The handle is hand carved from wood and the tin is hand shaped. The scoop is made of a fine mesh for sifting material or water separation. It has a very cool dark tone to it and would make a great decorative piece. I love primitive tools because they tell a story the more you look at them. Someone made this item out of necessity to accomplish a task over a hundred years ago, and that history is preserved in the patina of this scoop.
