This striped bench was made using pieces of walnut, oak, cherry, and maple wood. These woods are strong and provide good contrast to one another, enhancing the striped look. Each strip of wood is cut into the shape needed and glued together. Once they set up, the piece is shaped as one solid piece of wood. The two main pieces of wood on the bench top are walnut. There are no nails or screws only wooden pegs used to hold the piece together. This is strong joinery that will last for lifetimes.
